TUCSON, Ariz. - Authorities a 22-year-old woman has been charged in connection with a crash that killed a Tucson police officer.

Pima County's chief criminal deputy attorney says Lluvia Alejandra Dominguez was cited for failure to yield and causing serious physical injury or death by moving violation.

David Berkman also says the failure to yield charge is a civil citation, but the other charge carries a penalty of 30 days in jail and up to $10,000 in fines.

He says Dominguez did not have any alcohol or drugs in her system at the time of the May 17 crash.

Authorities say Peter Mannino had just ended his shift and was on his way home when Dominguez turned in front of his motorcycle. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The 42-year-old Mannino was a nine-year police department veteran who was assigned to work as a patrol officer in midtown Tucson.
