*** Amare'Can Idol: Does Amare Stoudemire deserve a max contract? --- Gambo, Ash, and Burnsy judge each game Amare plays in this season.

Here's what went down Tuesday on G&A…

Plan in Place…Gambo reported the Cards will meet next week and discuss their somewhat uncertain quarterback situation following Kurt Warner's recent retirement. The plan is in place to bring in a veteran signal-caller who has success in the NFL. One name John mentioned was Charlie Batch who has a previous relationship with Ken Whisenhunt during his coaching time in Pittsburgh. He also confirmed the club will likely draft a quarterback to add depth behind Leinart. Ash knows Rod Graves and Whisenhunt won't pursue Donovan McNabb, but will focus in on someone who can help the team win games, not just take up a spot on the roster like Brian St. Pierre did.

A Taxing Issue…With the NBA trade deadline approaching and rumors swirling around Amare Stoudemire, the Suns may be exploring other deals in getting under the luxury tax. Robert Sarver's team is currently $5 million over the number and John reported the team could get creative to make a deal or two, even if it doesn't involve STAT. Mark is convinced the cash-strapped Sarver would love to dump a salary or two if at all possible, but wonders how cautious he will be to move forward with a deal with the team on a five-game win streak heading into Wednesday's game against the Blazers.

29 Questions Ahead…As the Saints march through the streets of New Orleans Tuesday afternoon, the future of the current team is very much in-flux. Sean Payton's roster is filled with 29 free-agents including starting linebacker Scott Fujita and Reggie Bush who could land in either San Francisco or Seattle under former USC coach Pete Carroll. G&A agree there will be plenty of turnover in 2010 but know the key will be keeping the core together, while allowing financial flexibility with a possible work stoppage coming 2011.

CNBC Sports Business Reporter Darren Rovell discussed the economic impact of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue which hits newsstands this week. The issue generates millions of dollars each year and Rovell previewed his SI Swimsuit Special which airs Tuesday night on CNBC. He also said it could take up to three years for Tiger Woods to regain his "advertising footing" following the fallout of his numerous affairs.

Last Chance for Romance…Reports say Tiger Woods has six months to prove to wife Elin that he can stay faithful in hopes of saving their troubled relationship. Gambo wonders why she would even try to salvage this ugly relationship after Tiger's years of infidelity with strippers and porn stars. Ash understands Elin's hopes of keeping Tiger close to their two young kids, but feels a mutual parting is best for both. A separate site also said Woods could return to a made-for-television event in Orlando in the coming weeks.

Diamondbacks ace Dan Haren joined us to discuss his 2009 season where Haren went 14-10 with a 3.14 ERA. Pitchers and catchers report to Tucson on the 19th. Haren said the new-look rotation should be one of, if not the best in the National League.

Coyotes captain and good friend of the program Shane Doan checked in to discuss their blowout victory over Edmonton last night in Glendale. The ‘Yotes have won seven of their last eight and have already equaled their win total from last season.

Too Early?...Gambo reported the Diamondbacks are working towards a new contract extension for slugging third baseman Mark Reynolds even though he has four years left on his current deal. John thinks this could be a big mistake seeing how they recently restructured the contracts of Chris Young and Chris Snyder - both of whom have struggled since each getting big raises. Gambo wonders why the deal needs to be re-structured now. Ash feels it's because the D-backs can work a similar deal like Brandon Webb's (back-loaded as the contract plays out) and possibly get him below market value. The guys debated if Reynolds deserves the extension now after just one break out season which included 44 homers in 2009.

Meet Me in New Orleans…On the day the Saints celebrated their Super Bowl victory in New Orleans, Gambo & Ash looked back at how two of the major pieces were brought together in the "Big Easy." After being kicked to the curb by Chargers GM A.J. Smith in favor of Philip Rivers, Brees was pursued by then coach Nick Saban but Dolphin team doctors wouldn't clear his injured shoulder. Meanwhile in Dallas, after Bill Parcels left for Miami, Jerry Jones couldn't keep Payton in Big D and he ultimately courted Brees after being named head coach. The rest is history.

Wednesday we'll be joined by Suns All Star point guard Steve Nash at 2:10 and ESPN NBA analyst Tim Legler at 4:25.
