Seven Phoenix men accused of robbing "stash houses" where drugs are stored or illegal immigrants are temporarily housed have been arrested in Chandler.
Police said the seven, all alleged gang members, were being booked Thursday for investigation of armed robbery, burglary and resisting arrest.
Chandler police arrested them last night at a home near Alma School and Germann roads after getting a tip.
Sgt. Rick Griner, a Chandler Police Department spokesman, said all seven attempted to flee, and one of the men, 21-year-old Dante Cherry, suffered internal injuries and was hospitalized after being struck by one of the cars attempting to speed off from the home.
Griner said police found two rifles, two handguns and body armor in the home.
The suspects face charges of armed robbery with a deadly weapon, first degree burglary and resisting arrest.
The six other suspects were identified as Joseph Smith Jr., 30; Carlos Smith, 27; Brian Ross, 33; Dawone Jones, 26; Aaron Hagler, 22; and James Gonsalvez, 32.
