Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Call Me Maybe' was the biggest hit out there until Psy came along with his 'Gangnam Style' horse-dancing. But this homeowner still gave Carly some love syncing up the Christmas lights to her big tune. The Baltimore Sun posted the video shot of a Maryland home.
Jimmy Fallon is one of the smartest men on TV. And last night he got into the holiday season with his studio band 'The Roots' by playing Mariah Carey's 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' on toy instruments. Oh, did I mention that Mariah dropped in to help out? I think this is really, really sweet.
Most Overpaid: I often wonder why some actors can bring in $10 million, $20 million a picture when Hollywood has to know the film is going to bomb. If it makes you feel any better, Forbes was wondering the same thing and came up with the list of Hollywood's most overpaid actors. I hate to say I'm surprised that Eddie Murphy is on this list.
Cute Animal Video: OK, so it's in the 80s here in Phoenix. This puppy will put you in the Christmas spirit with his romp in the snow.
Psy Rakes in the Dough: He's had one big international hit, but he's not going to be broke anytime soon (depending on his money management skills). Read how Psy is on pace to make close to $8 million, 'Gangnam Style' of course.
Once again, Conan O'Brien scored a world exclusive. The first time, director J.J. Abrams showed three frames of footage from the film. Meaning, if you blinked you missed it. Zachary Quinto apppeared on the show and he brought his own "extended clip." Let's just say, I'm pretty sure this won't give anything away:
Recovering: It seems former Malcolm in the Middle star and Valley resident Frankie Muniz says he suffered a stroke. This morning a post appeared on a website that appears to belong to Muniz said: "I was in the hospital last Friday. I suffered a "Mini Stroke", which was not fun at all. Have to start taking care of my body! Getting old!" He turns 27 tomorrow.
Big Tours: Eric Clapton is coming. The Stones are on tour. And now a big announcement from Fleetwood Mac. They're hitting the road again on a 34-city tour and they'll be in Phoenix at the US Airways Center on May 30th of 2013. Tickets go on sale December 17.
Superman Stuff: The new poster for next summer's Man of Steel went viral on the old WWW yesterday, according to Deadline. It shows Superman in cuffs. I don't know how effective cuffs would be on Superman unless they're made of kryptonite.
New Hobbit Trailer: There's a new trailer for The Hobbit and for all you Hobbitses - as Gollum calls them - there's a glimpse of Smaug the dragon:
Awards Season: What do Brave, Rise of the Guardians and Wreck-It Ralph have in common? They're all animated and they all received 10 nominations each for the Annie Awards, says HitFix. The Annies are given out for achievement in animation. ParaNorman and Madagascar 3 also scored some nods. My guess is Wreck-It Ralph will likely be the big winner . . . The New York Film Critics Circle Awards were announcned. The big winner was Kathryn Bigelow's 'Zero Dark Thirty' taking the best picture prize. Matthew McConaughey won best supporting actor for his roles in Magic Mike and Bernie. See the full story in the LA Times.
Cute Baby Video: Is it a sign of things to come? ABC News has some MRI footage of twin fetuses kicking each other in the womb. You'd be fighting for space too if you saw cramped they are.
What more could you want from a zombie movie than lots of action, horror and humor? Well, throw in a little romance and you've got yourself Warm Bodies. A zombie becomes self-realized and falls in love. The girl who happens to be the object of his affection also happens to be the daughter of the man trying to "kill them all." Watch the trailer:
Another Sequel: The folks at Total Film had a chat with director Robert Zemeckis. He said that a script is ready to go for a "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" sequel. He says the film would be done just like the first one - except the sequel would be in 3-D.
Bob Costas Takes a Stand: The voice of NBC Sports advocated for gun control during halftime during the Eagles-Cowboys game yesterday following the murder suicide involving KC Chiefs Jovan Belcher and his girlfriend Kasandra Perkins.
More Fantasy, Please: If you're like me, then you're probably wondering - what's the next fantasy series getting the movie treatment a la The Hobbit. Well, Empire Online had the same question and they've got pictures from the set of Seventh Son. That's the re-titled name of Joseph Delaney's The Spook's Apprentice series. The film stars Ben Barnes, Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore.
More Star Trek Stuff: There's a man in a cape on the new Star Trek Into the Darkness poster, reports CinemaBlend. The interesting thing is Kirk, Spock, Uhura, Scotty nor Sulu appear on it. It's actually Benedict Cumberbatch who's reportedly the bad guy. And it looks like he's made a real mess of things.
Cute Animal Video: You've got a dog a cat getting fed by Cha Cha. Is Cha Cha the owner? Nope. Is Cha Cha a baby? Nope. Cha Cha is a crow.
More Troubles of Lilo: The troubles keep on coming for actress Lindsay Lohan. TMZ reports that the IRS has seized all of her bank accounts.
The Phoenix Film Critics' Society selected no movies for Pick of the Week, so I got on the phone with PFCS president David Ramsey to ask what gives. "It's a nothing weekend at the box office. Brad Pitt's new movie opened. But my statement still stands." I guess that sums it up. Pitt's new movie is Killing Them Softly. I'm still gonna see it and give it my review because besides being handsome, that guy really is a great actor.
Muppet Magic: If you were like me, you probably bristled with the idea that Disney bought The Muppets brand. But, alas, I was wrong. I think they've done good things with it. Take last year's The Muppets for example and their occasional viral videos. Now, to celebrate the holiday season The Muppets are providing back up on CeeLo Green's "All I Need is Love" video:
Cute Animal Video: Dogs at bathtime in super slow motion. Who doesn't love dogs in slow motion? I especially love when they shake the water off. Thanks, Pet Collective, for making this video.

Oscar Host Seth MacFarlane made the annoucement today at UCLA, but some other news slipped out during his announcement. The story is in place for a Family Guy movie according to Entertainment Weekly.
Summer Series: CBS and Stephen King have come to a deal on turning his book Under the Dome into 13 episode series to premier next summer, says THR. I'm still mad at Stephen King for killing a certain character off in the book Cell. I mean, I know an author has to be absolutely pitiless with some his characters for a good story arc. But still...
Rich Musicians: Who tops the Forbes list of highest paid musicians of 2012? Rapper Dr. Dre. He brought in $110 million, some from his new album and old albums. But he collected $100 million from his Beats headphones company. Pink Floyd founding member Roger Waters raked in $88 million, followed by Elton John, U2, and British boy band Take That.

More Trouble for Lohan: Lindsay Lohan was arrested for third degree assault around 4 a.m. this morning. Apparently, she was at a club. Got into an argument with a woman and allegedly slapped her in the face. (AP report in Time) This girl has moved from train wreck to just plain pitiful. I just don't see a good end to this story of someone who once had tremendous talent.
Awards Season News: It's going to be stiff competition at the Producer Guild Awards for TV dramas. The nominations are out and Homeland goes up against Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad and Mad Men.

Dolly on Colbert: Lots of people are talking about Dolly Parton's appearance on The Colbert Report. Why? She and Stephen Colbert performed a very sweet duet for which he played the guitar. Dolly is always a treasure to watch and I love that they included the outtakes.

See for yourself.
Vampires Aren't Cute: What have I been saying? Vampires aren't cute, they don't glow in the daylight & should be staked! And some Serbians agree with me. Some residents of Zorazje, a tiny village, believe Sava Savanovic was raised from the dead, is on the loose and looking for a new home, according to ABC News. Vampires aren't sweet. So take that team Edward.
Oops! The Communist Party's People's Daily in China took an article from The Onion to be truth. The Onion is a spoof/satire site, but apparently journalists for the communist party don't know that. The Onion declared North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un to be the Sexiest Man Alive. So the People's Daily ran a 55 page spread on him, including pictures, that it lifted from The Onion. "With his devastatingly handsome, round face, his boyish charm, and his strong, sturdy frame, this Pyongyang-born heart-throb is every woman's dream come true," the People's Daily quoted The Onion the BBC reports. This is what happens when people don't have open access to the Internet. In other news, current sexiest man alive Channing Tatum plans to sue. OK, that's not true. But it would be funny if it was.

More Filth Fallout: Yesterday, we told you about Two and Half Men star Angus T. Jones badmouthing his show calling it filth. Vulture reports He later apologized to his co-workers saying: "Without qualification, I am grateful to and have the highest regard and respect for all of the wonderful people on Two and Half Men with whom I have worked and over the past 10 years who have become an extension of my family." Now Former show headliner Charlie Sheen, in an exclusive interview with People, says the show is cursed. "With Angus's Hale-Bopp-like meltdown, it is radically clear to me that the show is cursed." And not to be left out, actor Rainn Wilson, a star on The Office has posted his own humorous video spoofing the Angus T. Jones video. Love how many times he repeats what time you can "ignore" his "filthy" show is on NBC.
Stephen Colbert Talks Homeland: I watched Homeland for the first time over the weekend. So, when I saw this on Comedy Central's The Colbert Report, I had to share.
Adele Makes It Big, Again: Adele is now a new mom and she's also reached a huge new music milestone. She's one of only a handful of artists that have sold in excess 10 million copies of a single album, reports THR.
Bacon Link: You know, the Click Chick is known for her love of bacon. I've seen every bacon link out there. So, I have to share a new product with you - bacon shaving cream.
"Two and a Half Men" has another star that is criticizing the show. First, it was Charlie Sheen and his very public meltdown that ended with a tour and the phrase "winning" that no one uses anymore. Now, the half-man on the show, 19-year-old Angus T. Jones, is getting in on it. Angus is begging people not to watch the show. He calls it "filth" in an interview with a Christian-themed website. He told viewers he didn't want to be on the show anymore. I guess they can just call it "Two Men" if he gets fired like Sheen. Read more about it in the LA Times and watch his video testimony.
Cute Animal Video: What could be cuter than a puppy sleeping? A puppy trying to sleep while sitting up.
More Going Gangnam Style: Psy is approaching a billion hits on YouTube for his "Gangnam Style" video. He's become a worldwide sensation. Further proof of that is that even the inmates at a Bangkok prison are going Gangnam Style. The performance comes a day before Psy, the Korean international pop star, is set to perform there. Officials said it to help inmates relieve stress and help them keep fit. Here's a photo to prove it.
Fashion Police: When you meet the head of state, you dress up. But what do you think Justin Beiber wore when he was awarded the Diamond Jubilee Medal by Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper? Overalls. That drew a lot of criticism. MTV reports he posted a statement saying it was impossible to change on the way from a meet and greet with fans to meet the prime minister. I'm old school. I say when you meet the head of state to get an award, wear something nice. And DON'T wear flip flops.
The Unlikely Diva: Adam Lambert's won American Idol. He's had a hit record. So he's perfect for VH-1's Divas special. What? You say. Listen to his pipes in this promo and you'll believe too.

It's being reformatted and will be called Girl Meets World with Ben Savage (the former titular character) and Danielle Fisher - Cory and Topanga respectively - returning to the series (at least, Topanga will be in the pilot), reports the HuffPo.
New Young Model: Guess who's modeling. Dannielynn Birkhead. She's actually the daughter of Anna Nicole Smith who posed for Guess and Playboy. Dannielynne will be modeling for Guess, just like her mother back in the day. According to Vulture, her father Larry Birkhead says she's asked "When will I be on shopping bags like mommy?" Sorry, that scares me.

This is the time of the year when most of the movies that are Oscar bait are released. What's getting lots of buzz? The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey: Lincoln, Silver Linings Playbook, Life of Pi and Les Miserables. Speaking of Les Miz, that film apparently got a standing ovation at a recent New York screening, according to IB Times. Take a look at the international trailer:
More Downton News: Last week I gave you the big news that Downton Abbey has been renewed for a fourth season. However, we've learned a major character -aka Cousin Matthew and heir to the Earl of Grantham and the man who'd get the title and the house will reportedly leave the show. So says the MSN.

She said yes, that happens when you're a worthless... fill in the blank folks. He retaliated and the Twitter war began. He then deactivated his account. In other Twitter news, Rihanna did tweet a photo of him lounging on his Bart Simpson sheets over the Thanksgiving weekend - even though the pair swear they aren't seeing each other, reports the HuffPo. She needs an intervention. Stat.
Game of Thrones, Comedy Style: Someone took the time to give Game of Thrones the Seinfeld treatment. The Wrap breaks it down.
Saying No to Spielberg: Even the best get told no. Take Steven Spielberg for example. He wanted to direct a film in the Bond series. But was told no. At least, that's according former Bond actor Roger Moore in an interview with the Daily Mail. He went off and made the Indiana Jones series instead and well - we all know how that went.
Cameron Diaz Jaw Dropping Quote: You make your own call about this Cameron Diaz quote The Insider found: "I think every woman does want to be objectified. There's a little part of you at all times that hopes to be somewhat objectified, and I think it's healthy."
It's Thanksgiving Day and some of you may be looking for something to watch after the football game ends. My recommendation for the last few years is and remains "Pieces of April." It stars Katie Holmes who plays the family oddball who hosts her first Thanksgiving meal in her tiny NYC apartment. Of course, nothing goes as she's planned and she has to rely on the help of her neighbor's good will and ovens to get her meal done in time. It's funny and poignant and packed with good performances. Of course, you'll also want to catch "Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving Special" or re-watch "Planes, Trains and Automobiles."
There's a new trailer for 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey': It's actually more than 7 minutes long, but it was not made by Peter Jackson. The Wrap reports it was made by a fan who culled the footage from "a variety of trailers and TV spots." Meaning, there are no spoilers. And fans (like myself) are digging it.
Big Payday for Former Miss USA: Yesterday, I said former Miss USA and former Price is Right model Brandi Cochran won $777,000 in compensatory damages in a lawsuit against the TV show for wrongful termination. She claimed she was fired after she got pregnant. Well, a jury has now awarded her $7.7 million in punitive damages in the case, according to E!Online. The TV show's reps say they believe the verdict was part of a flawed process, and that 40 percent of their models have been pregnant and returned to work. Yes, they're planning an appeal.

Great Performances...from Jimmy Fallon's Show: The more I watch Jimmy Fallon, the more I recognize his brilliance. Last night, he had Alicia Keys on the show. Did she perform her new hit "This Girl is on Fire" folks? Nope. She did a soulful version of the Gummi Bears theme. Funny and good all at the same time folks.
A Little Football Fun: For those of you who LOVE college bowl games and college ball, this may tickle your funny bone. In a skit on the Comedy Central show Key & Peele, they made fun of that roll call when players say their names and their college alma mater. And let's be honest, we've heard some crazy names...like these:
