Man found shot, burned in southern Arizona desert

TUCSON, Ariz. — Border Patrol agents have found the body of a man who was shot and burned in the remote southern Arizona desert near Ironwood Forest National Monument northwest of Tucson.

Pima County sheriff's Deputy Jason Ogan says the agents saw a vehicle enter the forest around 4:30 a.m. Saturday. Shortly after, they heard a gunshot and saw flames coming from a distance.

Ogan says the agents then saw the truck speeding away and followed it for a while before losing sight of it.

When they returned to check out the fire, they found a man shot and burned on his entire body. He was dead on the ground.

The sheriff's office is leading the investigation into the killing. The Border Patrol did not return a call for more details.

    in our prisons. We've seen this MO before in convict escapes. McCluskey brutally shot and burned the inoffensive Hass couple. The Tison's did their dirty deeds after their prison escape in similar manner in various locations, including the Arizona desert. Important for cops not to waste important investigative time thinking like bigots. Must keep open minds about what the evidence, not their biases, tells them.

    Mulie who had lost a few loads of weed to our Feds/BP etc lately. Cartel bosses wanted to make an example of him. If they use the Mexican cultural method - beheading and various body parts removed - it fits into the Gov. Brewer scenario. So, they just shoot him, set him on fire. Either way - he's dead and other Mulies learn their bosses are tired of losing merchandise. At least they didn't tie him down and smear him with jalapeno jelly for the ants to feast on. Yet. Watch for the vultures in the sky, amigo.
