TEMPE, Ariz. - Cardinals QB Kurt Warner, fresh off a 285 yards, three touchdown performance against the Minnesota Vikings, was named the NFC's Offensive Player of the Week.
Warner returned to the lineup after missing the previous week's game due to concussion symptoms and promptly passed for three first-half touchdowns while guiding the Cardinals to a 21-10 halftime lead, and an eventual 30-17 victory.
Sunday's game was Warner's fourth consecutive game with a passer rating over 120.0, and he has guided the Cardinals to wins in his last four starts, and the Cardinals' 8-4 record is the team's best record through 12 games since the 1976 season.
Warner won the award for the second time this season, with the first coming after the Cardinals' week nine win over the Chicago Bears. It is the sixth time a Cardinal has been selected as a Player of the Week, following Calais Campbell (week 2), Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (week 5), Adrian Wilson (week 7) and LaRod Stephens-Howling (week 12).
Warner now has the most Player of the Week selections in team history, and is the first Cardinal to win the award twice in the same season since Boomer Esiason did it in 1996.
