Bryzgalov named NHL's Third Star of the month for October

GLENDALE, Ariz. - Phoenix Coyotes goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov's stellar month of October did not go unnoticed by the NHL.

On Monday the NHL announced that Bryzgalov was named the NHL's Third Star for the month of October.

Bryzgalov posted a record of 8-3-0 with a 1.78 goals against average (GAA), a .930 save percentage and three shutouts in October.

His play helped the Coyotes to a 9-4-0 mark in the month of October.

The Third Star led all NHL goaltenders in GAA and shutouts and ranked third in save percentage.

Bryzgalov allowed two or fewer goals in eight of 11 starts, including road shutout victories over the Penguins, Sharks, and Blues.
