A one and a half-year-old child was rushed to the hospital in critical condition after a dog attack in South Phoenix late Monday afternoon.

The boy's 13-year-old uncle said he found the child in the back yard under a trampoline with two of the family's five Rottweilers standing over him.

The uncle said he pushed the dogs away, rushed the boy indoors and kept the child's airways open until help could arrive.

Sergeant Nick Doherty with the Phoenix Police Department said the child had "dog bites to every portion of his body."

Phoenix police and animal control officers rushed to the scene in the 3900 block of S. 6th Avenue.

It's not known what provoked the dogs to bite him in the neck.
