GILBERT, Ariz. - A natural gas leak led police in Gilbert to discover a sophisticated marijuana-growing operation inside a home and seize nearly 800 marijuana plants.

Police said both officers and firefighters were dispatched Tuesday night to a home near Higley and Ray roads after a reported gas leak, apparently caused by so-called settling of the house.

Inside the house, authorities say they found approximately $100,000 in hardware and equipment used to grow marijuana.

According to police, the marijuana plants that were seized would have had a street value of nearly $2 million at full maturity.

There were no immediate arrests and an investigation continues.
