Rapper DMX pleaded not guilty in Maricopa County Superior Court Thursday to charges he used a false identity to skip out on a medical bill.
After his arraignment, he gave News/Talk 92-3 KTAR's Kevin Tripp a statement in the form of a new, and colorful, rap.
``In the absence of truth, bull---- prevails. What they did, ---- truth in jail," he said.
DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was indicted last week on new charges of theft and using another man's identity.
Court documents said Simmons used the name Troy Jones when he checked into the Mayo Clinic last April. Authorities used a search warrant to uncover documents in Jones' name that had a New York address and fake Social Security number. Simmons allegedly used the fake name to try to avoid paying a $7,500 bill.
Simmons was indicted earlier on drug and animal cruelty charges after sheriff's deputies raided his Cave Creek home.
