Ajo, Ariz. - Border Patrol Agents discovered an abandoned truck Friday containing 76 bundles of marijuana that weighed approximately 1,600 lbs. and carried an estimated street value of more than $1.6 million.

Ajo agents had received reports of a vehicle traveling northbound from the U.S.-Mexico Border in a remote West Desert area known for illegal activities. Agents requested aerial assistance from Customs and Border Protection's Office of Air and Marine who identified the vehicle's location.

Agents responded to the site and found the truck abandoned and concealed near a cattle tank. An attempt to locate the driver was unsuccessful.

The truck was reported as stolen and was turned over to the Pima County Sheriff's Office.

When is this country's elected officials going to see that our Biggest threat is coming from Mexico and not Iraq!!! The "ZETAS" are much more violent than Bin Laden's zealots!!! These people are so greedy for $$$ that they will kill their own family for money!!!

Was this another bust occurring on one of the Indian Reservations? Lately, it seems the Rez Tribal Council turns a blind eye to the Cartels using their "Sovereign Nation" roads to bring stuff into the US. Cannot understand why the Rez Council/Police want to be in on this activity considering the terrible health conditions and drug/alcohol abuse already rampant in their communities. Maybe they are getting a nice chunk of the bribe money?
