PHOENIX -- Two men have been arrested at a Scottsdale business in a case related to the state's employer sanctions law.
One of the suspected illegal immigrants arrested was earning more than $85,000 a year, according to Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
Arpaio said the owner of Stealth Demolition had a high regard for the man, identified as Gabriel Jiminez.
"He was commended by the owner of the company -- who said he was the best ever and a very honorable person who never lied," Arpaio said.
The sheriff added, "We have an economic problem. People are losing their jobs, they would do anything to get a job like that -- or any job."
Arpaio said deputies received a tip about Jiminez from a call on the illegal immigration hotline.
Jiminez and a second suspected illegal immigrant were arrested on ID theft and forgery charges.
Arpaio said nearly 250 suspected illegal immigrants have been arrested at Valley businesses during the past year.
