PHOENIX -- Two men have been arrested at a Scottsdale business in a case related to the state's employer sanctions law.

One of the suspected illegal immigrants arrested was earning more than $85,000 a year, according to Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

Arpaio said the owner of Stealth Demolition had a high regard for the man, identified as Gabriel Jiminez.

"He was commended by the owner of the company -- who said he was the best ever and a very honorable person who never lied," Arpaio said.

The sheriff added, "We have an economic problem. People are losing their jobs, they would do anything to get a job like that -- or any job."

Arpaio said deputies received a tip about Jiminez from a call on the illegal immigration hotline.

Jiminez and a second suspected illegal immigrant were arrested on ID theft and forgery charges.

Arpaio said nearly 250 suspected illegal immigrants have been arrested at Valley businesses during the past year.

Who's ID did he steal to get the job??? And it doesn't matter if this guy was the Best Employee in the world!!! He IS A CRIMINAL!!! He ILLEGALLY entered this country, stole someone's ID and was taking the job that should have gone to someone who was entitled to be here!!! IT NEEDS TO STOP!!! How many jobs have been lost to Illegals in this country??? MILLIONS!!! And then they send money out of the country which hurts this country and I'm sure he told other Illegals how to do what he did. It comes down to one thing. It is either Legal or Illegal!!! And if it's Illegal IT'S WRONG!!! We need EVERY JOB WE CAN GET!!! And every job lost to an Illegal is one job an American Citizen does not have!!! Why can't they fix their own countries problems??? Are they Afraid to protest the Corrupt Government in their own countries??? They surely don't have a problem protesting our laws!!!

all to ponder. The facts as we know them right now, he is an illegal. Fact 2: he was paid $85K a year. Now, ask yourself this, was he paying taxes, state, federal and SS? And if he was, under whose SS#? And if not, then the guy and the company that hired him and paid him need to go to jail for tax fraud and evasion. This company needs to be prosecuted.

said the illegal employed by him was very honorable, never lied and was the best worker he ever had! Whose SS# was the "most honorable" man using? Or was he paying taxes at all? Calling any illegal alien honorable is a joke...they all have every fraudulent document they need for almost every move they make. And this criminal illegal (making $85,000 a year) is clearly making a fool of Americans who are looking for work!

The tone of Joe's voice was SO passionate when he exclaimed that the 85K / year job is one a CITIZEN should have was impressive. He should run for Governor. He would get my vote.
  • Goooo Joe!!

The majority of voters (legal or otherwise) were right to pick you as their sheriff.
