MESA, Ariz. - Police are holding a former Apache Junction High School freshman girl's coach in connection with an alleged inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old female player.

Twenty-five-year-old Raenna Jewell of Gilbert is being held in Pinal County Jail on $750,000 bond.

Apache Junction police arrested Jewell March 29 on suspicion of sexual conduct with a minor after police received information from the girl's mother about suspicious text messages between Jewell and the girl.

A grand jury indicted Jewell on two counts each of sexual conduct with a minor and luring a minor for sexual exploitation from incidents that began in December.

A school district spokeswoman confirmed Jewell was employed part time in the district from Sept. 19 through March 20, 2009, until the time of her resignation.

Don't tell me that a 16 year old doesn't know what they are doing. How many 16 year olds across the nation are having babies? How many 12 year olds already know about sex and "how to do it"? My daughter is head of the NICU at a hospital in Michigan and she has told me many times of "kids" coming in having babies. So don't just blame the coach - both need to be convicted.
