New Zealand driving PSA is unsettling

When we see a public service announcement in America, the edge is often taken off to make it presentable to all audiences.
In New Zealand? Not so much.
This driving PSA is straight to the point. It points out that speeders need to slow down, as they never know when another driver will make a simple mistake that can lead to catastrophe.
The PSA features two cars. Before a massive accident, time slows down and the drivers get out and talk to each other.
One says, “I thought there was enough time.” He has his son in the backseat.
The end of the PSA shows the collision. It’s brutal.
Does America need to see things like this? The other part of it we found interesting was the word “mistake.” We tend not to think about how people drive in terms of mistakes.
Maybe we should.
