Charles Barkley gives thoughts on George Zimmerman verdict

Charles Barkley is not one to dodge questions. Thursday proved to be no different.

Barkley was on CNBC's "Closing Bell" Thursday and the conversation turned to the outcome of the George Zimmerman trial.

"Well, I agreed with the verdict," Barkley said. "I feel sorry that young kid got killed. But they didn't have enough evidence to charge [Zimmerman]."

Barkley went on to say that he realized his was not the popular opinion.

He also mentioned that he didn't like that race was part of the story.

"I don't like when race gets out in the media because I don't think the media has a pure heart, as I call it. There are very few people have a pure heart when it comes to race. Racism is wrong in any shape, form -- a lot of black people are racist too."

Barkley feels bad for Trayvon Martin's parents and at the end of the day "we all lost."
