Poll: Parents don't want their kids in politics

The cliche "you can be anything you want" speech is starting to take a turn after a recent poll revealed that parents wouldn't like to see their children entering politics.

According to, a poll done by Gallup shows that 66 percent of Americans don't want to see their kids tossing a hat into the political ring.

According to the poll, 37 percent would like to see their daughter go into politics as opposed to 25 percent that would like to see their son go into the field.

Opinions have changed very little in the past 50 years. The last time over 30 percent of parents said they would encourage their son to go into politics was in 1965.
