With the Powerball drawing on Wednesday, many people might wonder where money from lottery sales actually go.
Karen Bach from the Arizona Lottery told News/Talk 92.3 KTAR's Karie & Chuck that about 40 percent of lottery money goes to education.
"The legislature dictates the funding for many of the state programs and services," said Bach.
Court Appointed Special Advocates or CASA, which is funded by the Arizona Lottery, is a organization that is run by volunteers who serve as advocated for abused and neglected children.
According to their website, the money is split into four sections: economic and business development, education, environmental issues and health and public welfare.
