This is the story of 35-year-old Freddy Altamirano and it doesn't have a fairytale ending. This story is a tragedy and a mystery.
"He visited Phoenix, Arizona quite often because we had family there," says Freddy's older sister Ana Gallegos.
Happily married, with four daughters between the ages of 5 and 18, Freddy worked construction in California. "He loved going fishing."
He also loved riding ATVs and watching football with his brother Lalo. "Freddy and Lalo were like best buddies. They hung out together and they both loved the [Oakland] Raiders."
The life of the party, happy, go lucky and generous. "If he was on his last dollar, he would definitely help you. He was always that kind of person to help you."
January 28th, 2006. Phoenix Police Sergeant Paul Penzone says Freddy was here in the Valley to buy an ATV. "He got in about 2:10 in the afternoon. About 7:30 that same evening, he called his wife to say he was headed back to California. He was never seen or heard from again."
"A few days later, officers found Freddy's body. He was murdered and left in his vehicle."
His vehicle had fire damage.
"Anything you can do to help us to find the people that did this to my brother," says Gallegos, who hopes someone will come forward. "Think of your brother. Think of your family. Put yourself in our shoes. It hurts a lot when you don't know."
