Police ID woman found dead in Tucson apartment

TUCSON, Ariz. � Authorities say a woman found dead in a Tucson apartment this week has been identified.

Tucson police say the body is that of 47-year-old Carmelita Aguilar.

Her body was found Tuesday in a closet inside a unit of a south-side apartment.

Police say the victim's 25-year-old son Christopher Aguilar was arrested on suspicion of concealing a body.

Officers received a 911 call Tuesday about a woman missing for about a month.

They went to the apartment and found the body wrapped in plastic and covered in blankets.

Aguilar told police he knew the woman was dead, concealed the body and continued living in the apartment.

The Arizona Daily Star says Christopher Aguilar claims he found a body Jan. 8 in his bathtub. It's unclear if he has a lawyer.
