A DPS officer was traveling down Price Road near Southern Avenue when another vehicle reportedly cut him off and sent him down an embankment, onto the side of the 101 freeway.
The vehicle fell approximately 25-feet before landing on all four wheels. The car was totaled, but the officer was transported to the hospital with just minor injuries. The female who cut off the officer stayed on scene and is being questioned by officers.
Officer Carrick Cook with the DPS says the accident could have been a lot worse.
"It very easily could have been where the patrol car rolled over and landed on its roof or side and caused a significant amount of injury to himself or anyone else," he said.
The intersection at Southern Avenue and the 101 has been shut down for clean-up.
