Cardinals kicker gives thoughts on GOP race thus far

PHOENIX -- Arizona Cardinals kicker Jay Feely joined KTAR's Mac and Gaydos to discuss his outside interest, politics.
He says that whether or not athletes want to be, they're role models for young kids and it is important to be involved.
Feely is ready to support either Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich, whom he feels are the lock in candidates to represent the republican party in this year's presidential election.
Many, including Megan McCain, have said that if Gingrich wins the republican nomination they will strongly consider voting for a third party candidate.
Feely says this will only further seal Obama's victory.
"I think if you're going to support a third party candidate then you're in-effect supporting President Obama," Feely told Mac & Gaydos. "If you have, say, Ron Paul run as a third party candidate he'll probably get 15 to 20 percent of the vote and he'll pull that majority away from republicans who don't like their candidate.
So you're going to in-effect elect President Obama."
