PHOENIX — Someone is excited for football season.
According to Fox 10, two javelinas were trapped at Arizona State University’s Sun Devil Stadium Wednesday morning.
Authorities say the collared peccaries could have come from Papago Park or the nearby river bottom in search of food, so ASU officials called in an expert to remove them from the area.
Officials believe the animals got in through a hole in the fence.
“Typically, they’re very fast animals and can be very very mean.. fortunately for us today we were able to get them — no problem, no injuries,” said Lone Wolf’s Joe DeWolf.
After they were captured, the javelinas were taken to the East Valley and released.
