The worst year for Arizona tourism was 2009, according to Kristen Jarnagin, VP of Communications at the Arizona Lodging & Tourism Association. However, since then each year the tourism rate grows a little more, even in the hot summers.
I spoke to Jarnagin about the biggest attraction in Arizona, the Grand Canyon (can you believe that in Seattle, people think the Grand Canyon is in Colorado? I mean we’re the Grand Canyon State!) and the competitiveness of promoting our state, and how resorts in the Valley are actually really busy on the offseason.
