Former Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is the new face of a nonprofit group's gun control campaign.

Americans for Responsible Solutions calls for universal background checks in its first video ad.

In the ad Giffords asks Congress to act.

"Let's get this done," she said.

    millions of would be prohibited possessors from their initial efforts to get their hands on guns. Unfortunately, many of these same criminals in waiting just walked to the nearest gun show that didn't require non dealer background checks and purchased guns from otherwise law abiding gun owners who didn't want to turn away a sale, even if it meant to hell with public safety. Other soon to be armed robbers and wife murderers went the private sales route, and contacted these same otherwise law abiding gun owners online or face to face to get their killing tools.

    have not stopped criminals from getting guns. It has stopped those who filled out paperwork. Don't think a criminal who wants a gun is going to take the time to fill out some paperwork.

    need to fade away. Hey Kelly quit doing the thinking and talking for you wife or feeding the info to her. We know that she has not quite recovered fully to think this up all herself. I'm sorry she was a victim of a shooting but you need to stop pushing your beleives on everyone else.

    Really shot? Or was it just another facade to perpetuate Obama's gun grabbing agenda. There is quite a bit of evidence that points to this as being an acting event planned by the Obama administration. Gabby and her miraculous recovery.
