    opening ceremony
No doubt, that a lot of work went into their production. For those that watched it on TV if it was not for the commentator, it was confusing. I feel that it was produced for the people of the Isles, and not for the world. They fell short of China's production. It just didn't "wow" me.

    Agree, happyjack
Usually opening entails an amazing display of digital-light-show visuals, and expression of unity . . . harmony . . . goodwill. Aside from the impressive converging of the Olympic rings, this was a boring, confusing conglomeration of advertising for National Health Services, nightmares, history of pop music, dance-floor presentations, the Internet . . . all done in Broadway-stage proportion, which needed to be projected onto big screens to even see. A real disappointment.
