Charles Barkley, 45, former Phoenix Suns player and now a TV commentator, was arrested early Dec. 31, 2008, after running a stop sign in Old Town Scottsdale. Barkley was cited for driving while impaired.

A Chino Valley woman was arrested Dec. 2, 2008, for allegedly stealing checks from a Prescott-area church and from the mail of several individuals. Summer Arnold, 27, faces charges of mail theft, identity theft, fraudulent schemes and forgery.

James Alvin Duke, 43, allegedly tried to sexually assault an 18-year-old female student tending animals housed at Gilbert High School, Dec. 25, 2008. Police say the alleged victim fought off Duke and even stabbed the him in the chest with a key. He was booked into Maricopa County Jail on attempted sexual assault, theft of means of transportation and attempted kidnapping.

Patrick Begley, 18, of Prescott Valley, was arrested Dec. 23, 2008, after admitting he was racing with Kasey Valencour, 17, when she was killed in a car crash Nov. 2. Begley was booked on a charge of failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

12/23/08 - Cresenciano Torres De La Rosa (left), 36, and Jorge Morales-Loza, 30, were found guilty on four counts of kidnapping and one count of human smuggling for holding 50 people against their will in a drop house.

Robert Hatfield, 24, was arrested Dec. 22 after allegedly wielding a three-feet sword around an apartment complex, near 59th Avenue and Bethany Home Road in Glendale. Hatfield was booked for aggravated assault and unlawful flight. No one was injured.

Daniel Patrick Combs, 38, suspected of stalking actress Lindsay Lohan, was arrested in Scottsdale Dec. 17, 2008. Police said when Lohan and a friend were trying to leave the club, Combs pushed one of the guards and tried to follow the celebrities. Combs was booked on suspicion of disorderly conduct.

Jon Solnicka, 41, was sentenced Dec. 12, 2008, to 51 years in prison for molesting three young girls at his home in Youngtown. He spent five years in an Oregon prison for raping a 10-year-old child in 1989.

Scottsdale police arrested Ben Fuchs on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008 for trespassing in the "Scottsdale Creeper" case. They allege he simply walked into unlocked apartments where only female residents lived and watch them sleep. Police say one victim claims he touched her leg.

Elizabeth Ortiz, 30, was arrested December 10, 2008, on suspicion of child abuse after she allegedly fell asleep on the couch, smothering her 7-month-old child. Phoenix police officers said they think drug use might have caused Oritz to accidentally smother the boy.

A Valley judge sentenced Christopher Langin to natural life, plus 27 years, on Dec. 11, 2008 for the beating death of a 3-year-old girl left in his care.

Arturo Delgado was indicted on a first degree murder charge on Dec. 10, 2008 in connection with the death of his eight-month-old daughter. Investigators say he dropped his daughter twice and then shook her when she became unresponsive after the second fall.

Maricopa County Supervisor Don Stapley surrendered to authorities, and was released after being fingerprinted and photographed Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008. Stapley was indicted earlier in the month on 118 counts alleging that he failed to fully disclose land deals and business interests on financial disclosure forms.

Kenneth Shatzer, 47, of Prescott Valley, was arrested on charges of molesting his friend's teenage daughter. In addition, Shatzer is charged with five counts of child pornography and possession of marijuana.

Jack W. Blurton was arrested by police responding to a call of a man with a knife and a grenade at Groggy's Bar in Mesa October 20, 2008. Police used a Taser on Blurton three times before he went down.

Kenneth Aceves was arrested October 20, 2008 on suspicion of stealing an $80,000 custom-built vehicle and breaking into four vehicles over a four-month period.

Kathleen Gilley was one of 80 people arrested in a year-long drug investigation conducted by Tempe police. The arrests were announced on Sept. 25, 2008.

According to the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office, Douglas Ray Riesberg is accused of scamming Make-A-Wish foundation out of $11,000 dollars and causing a huge disappointment to a very sick child in Chicago. They say Reisberg was supposed to make the child a go cart, but never did.

Andrew Macey, 20, was arrested by a Yavapai County Sheriff's deputy on drug and weapons charges during a traffic stop August 11, 2008.

Jermaine Canada, 27, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder August 4, 2008. He's accused of walking into a Phoenix 7-Eleven, holding a 2-year-old child, and shooting and killing a store clerk. A 6-year-old child accompanying Canada also witnessed the shooting.

Yavapai County Sheriff's Office Deputies arrested Stephen Neshem, 45, on July 24, 2008, for various charges involving sexual activity with three minor victims.

Timothy Bland, 23, was arrested in connection with a double slaying in Glendale, July 17, 2008. He was booked on two counts of first degree murder, a single count of prohibited possession of a firearm and a parole violation warrant.

Patrick Frame, 46, was arrested July 17, 2008, after he allegedly exposed himself and masturbated on a city bus in front of a 9-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy. Police said video evidence of the incident on the July 4 holiday weekend led to Frame's arrest at the Paradise Valley Mall Transit Center. Frame was booked on charges of indecent exposure and public sexual indecency.

Juan Fuentes-Lozano, 36, of Dolan Springs, Ariz., was arrested July 16, 2008 on charges of theft, animal cruelty, criminal damage and nine counts of misconduct involving weapons in connection with an ongoing, multi-agency probe into the killing of cattle.

Jodi Arias, 28, was arrested in California July 16, 2008, in connection with the death of a Mesa man whose body was found in his apartment after friends worried about his welfare, police said. Arias was booked on a charge of first-degree murder.

Justin Wade Lunsford, 26, of Cave Creek, was arrested July 15, 2008, accused of murdering a woman he met in a Cave Creek bar hours before.

Heather Bruner, 36, was booked at the Prescott Detention Center July 7, 2008, on charges of intentional injury to another and disorderly conduct after she allegedly struck her boyfriend's mother in the head, Yavapai County sheriff's deputies said.

Darnell Smith, 20, was arrested and charged July 6, 2008 with one count of aggravated assault after an argument with a roommate led to a fight and stabbing, Tempe police said.

7/4/2008 - Phoenix police are asking for the public's help in locating a convicted sex offender who has disappeared. Anthony Fritz, 46, was released from prison last year after serving time for attempted sexual conduct with a child and molestation of a child.

Heather Ann McGalliard, 33, was booked on charges of aggravated identity theft, theft of a credit card and 12 counts of fraudulent credit card use July 2, 2008. She is suspected of possessing more than 200 credit card account numbers and making purchases with them across the Valley. She was arrested in Tempe.

Jae Hwan Shim, 39, was charged with the slayings of his ex-wife, her two children and a NASA scientist in his California desert home. Shim was arrested in Arizona near the Mexican border June 30, 2008.

Virgil Togstad Jr. was arrested outside his parents' home in Wittman and jailed as a suspect in the fatal shootings of his father, mother and younger brother during a family dispute June 24, 2008, police said.

Police are looking for Gil Sosa, who was behind the wheel of a truck when he ran a stop sign, hit a car, and then landed in a canal June 23, 2008, officers said. Five people were injured in the accident.

Michelle Murray, 26, was charged with six counts of child abuse June 19, 2008 after she and her husband brought her 2-month-old baby boy to Yavapai Regional Medical Center with numerous broken bones.

James Armentrout Jr., 38, broke into an apartment through an unlocked front door and kissed a woman as she slept, police said. Armentrout was arrested February 17, 2008, and charged with second-degree burglary and aggravated assault-unlawful entry with intent to commit an assault.

Shane Englehart was arrested after leaving his 2-year-old daughter home alone while he went to work June 17, 2008, according to authorities.

Police are seeking Manuel Ovante Jr., 21, in connection to the shootings of three people June 16, 2008. Anyone with information regarding the location of Ovante is asked to contact the Phoenix Police Department at (602) 262-6151 or Silent Witness at (480) WITNESS.

Joseph Ramirez, 22, of Queen Creek, allegedly molested a 9-year-old girl. Ramirez was arrested June 11, 2008, on charges of child molestation, sexual conduct with a minor and domestic violence.

6/4/2008 - Juan Beltran Nunez, 29, and Ricardo Hurtado, 25, are behind bars, accused of opening fire on a pair of Phoenix police officers.

6/12/2008 - David Kinsey, a 38-year-old Tempe man, was arrested, accused of pulling up to a woman on a motorized scooter, jumping out of his truck naked and sexually assaulting her.

6/2/2008 - John Boyd, 43, is wanted for multiple warrants and charges of unlawful flight. The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office is searching for the Sedona resident who fled from police in two incidents 13 days apart.

5/30/2008 - Trent Benson, who was arrested May 14, is considered the main suspect in the Mesa serial predator case in which two women were killed and two others sexually assaulted.

Martin Custodio-Perez, 26, and Humberto Barrera-Luna, 25, were arrested May 29, 2008, for human smuggling, the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office said.

5/28/2008 - Royce Zahney, a homeless man, groped a 12-year-old girl and tried to touch her teenage friend at a Phoenix public pool, police said.

Marc Antoine Stovall, of Mesa, was arrested May 7, 2008 after he allegedly robbed a 7-11 store.

5/23/2008 - Dan Bramwell, 57, was charged with aggravated DUI and possessing an open container of liquor while operating a motor vehicle after sheriff's deputies received several complaints about speeding.

Jorge DeAvila-Lucatero, 24, was arrested May 15, 2008, on three counts of sexual assault, one count of sexual abuse, two counts of kidnapping and one count of aggravated assault after he was accused of raping a woman and assaulting another.

5/13/2008 - Pedro Valadez, 77, was charged with kidnapping and sexual abuse after police say he held an 11-year-old girl against her will at his home.

5/12/2008 - Gabriel Burns faces aggravated DUI, aggravated assault and second-degree murder charges after he allegedly hit a family of four, killing both parents and sending the two children to the hospital.

Earl Simmons, also known as rapper DMX, was arrested May 9, 2008 at his home pursuant to indictments on seven misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty and four felony drug possession charges after trying to barricade himself in his bedroom when Maricopa County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived with a search warrant.

5/8/2008 - Donald Leacock, 51, was indicted on 24 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor after sheriff's deputies in Ash Fork say he married a teenage girl and then invited other men to have sex with her while he took photographs.

5/8/2008 - John Edward Mosley, 61, of Utah, was arrested on indecent exposure charges after victims of the allegedly nude Sedona hiker told women he encountered that he was "getting close to nature."

5/6/2008 - Carrie Williams-Thompson, aka Kooki the Clown, 48, will face face felony charges of fraud, theft, financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult, forgery and unlawful use of power of attorney, after the professional clown allegedly stole $500,000 from an elderly widow.

5/1/2008 - Mike Polk, a Phoenix police homicide detective, was booked on 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. The 27-year veteran of the department had been involved in some of the Valley's most high-profile homicide investigations and was featured regularly on the A&E TV reality crime series 'The First 48'.

4/29/2008 - Daniel Bueno (left) and David Alvidrez (center) were arrested and booked on three counts of murder. Police continue their search for Robert "Bobby" Hernandez (right). The three are suspects in a triple killing at a Peoria home, which has been linked to a robbery attempt related to drug trafficking.

4/28/2008 - Matthew Valdez, 36, was found hiding under a pile of his ex-girlfriend's clothes after he allegedly broke into her apartment and assaulted her. He was booked on several assault charges, as well as violating a restraining order.

4/22/2008 - Mark Perez was arrested on manslaughter charges after allegedly running over and killing his 18-month-old niece.

4/18/2008 - Jeffrey Hamlet, 55, a former sheriff's office detention officer, is accused of killing his wife.

4/21/2008 - Robert Gaye, 32, was arrested after nearly two years on the run. He is accused of sexually abusing a 3-year-old girl he babysat in Minnesota in May 2006.

4/15/2008 - Julio Valencia, 29, of Overland Park, Kan., was booked into jail on 10 counts of human smuggling after 10 illegal immigrants were found when Valencia's minivan was stopped for speeding on Interstate 17.

4/15/2008 - Latisha L. Breckenridge, 29, was booked into jail on counts of second-degree murder and child abuse and is being held on a $200,000 bond after she allegedly smashed her 3-year-old niece against a couch, snapping her spine and severing a major artery, according to court records.

4/14/2008 - Richard Lopez, 23; Leticia Valeria Reyes, 24; Michelle Sernas, aka Michelle Flores, 24; Fred W. Vaden, 22; are in custody in connection with multiple daytime burglaries in the Sundance and Westpark neighborhoods of Buckeye.

4/11/2008 - Sheila Croney, 34, faces charges including forgery, aggravated identity theft and possession of narcotic drugs after she tried to use fake checks at two drug stores.

4/10/2008 - Isabelle Martinez Arredondo was charged with one count of second-degree murder in the death of a man whose body was found in a vacant Avondale field.

4/8/2008 - Tracie Rasmussen, 21, and Randall Combs, 45, were arrested in connection with an identity theft case that began at an LA Fitness Center and ended at the victim's home.

4/3/2008 - Victor Manuel Varela Jr., 23, was arrested in Tucson and is accused of being the leader of a gun smuggling network that supplied a Mexican drug cartel with weapons.

3/31/2008 - Bernard E. Allen, 25, was arrested after police responded to calls of a man holding a bloody butcher knife outside Mesa's Fiesta Mall. The ex-convict, with a history of mental illness, is accused of randomly stabbing two strangers in two days at the mall, killing one of them.

3/30/2008 - Toribio Jesse Luna was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license after he hit a 3-year-old child, sending the child to the hospital with head injuries.

3/28/2008 - James Ward Chapman, 40, was convicted Thursday of child molestation and sexual abuse in the molestation of a 13-year-old child who is hearing impaired.

3/27/2008 - Bobby Steve was arrested and Chandler police are seeking a final suspect who worked with three others to steal $1.6 million worth of merchandise from Avnet electronics.

3/26/2008 - Terry Lee Windust, 55, was arrested on drug and weapons charges. Blair Cox, 54, were arrested for having after authorities seized a mortar launching tube and $29,000 worth of firearms last week from a gun store, the owner of which was a prohibited firearms possessor.

3/21/2008 - Steven Ross Fowler, 40, a suspected copper thief attempted to bury himself in the dirt to avoid arrest. He was apprehended using new equipment developed for detecting copper theft, police said.

3/21/2008 - Peter Cupis, Jr., 28, is behind bars after police say he sexually assaulted a 93-year-old woman in her Mesa home.

3/20/2008 - Joshua Morgan, 21, pleaded guilty to three charges this week including child prostitution and attempted sexual conduct with a minor.

3/20/2008 - A state appellate court has upheld the termination of parental rights of a Scottsdale couple accused of starving their children. Kimu Parker has been convicted of child abuse and sentenced to 30 years in prison, though the sentencing judge urged a state board to shorten her sentence.

3/20/2008 - Andrea Brennan, 42, of Scottsdale, was arrested and booked on charges of possession of dangerous drugs, drug paraphernalia, prescription drugs and narcotic drugs, theft of means of transportation and failure to return rental property.

3/20/2008 - Thayne Jensen, 37, was booked on two counts of armed robbery in connection with four robberies since December at the Discount Pharmacy on South Mesa Drive.

3/19/2008 - Juan Castelo, 22, was charged with attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault, first-degree burglary and nine other counts in connection with the stabbing of a couple at a Paradise Valley resort.

3/17/2008 - Nicholas Springer, 25, and his friend, Brendan Bank, 26, were charged with disorderly conduct after fighting with bouncers at Dos Gringos, a Scottsdale bar.

3/16/2008 - Rudy Garza was charged with drive-by shooting for the shooting death of 15-year-old Dominique Wilson, a student at Copper Canyon High School.

3/14/2008 - Edgardo Alvarado-Navarro, 29, for identity theft and forgery, after using the identity of a retired peace officer to gain employment.

3/13/2008 - David Graham, 47, is accused of beating a 65-year-old man with an aluminum baseball bat stole the victim's car and drove it to California.

3/11/2008 - Marquita Martin, 22, was arrested on suspicion of child abuse after she allegedly left her 5-year-old son home alone while she went out to a night club.

3/6/2008 - Joseph Smith Jr., 30; Carlos Smith, 27; Brian Ross, 33; Dawone Jones, 26; Aaron Hagler, 22; and James Gonsalvez, 32; were charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon, first degree burglary and resisting arrest after they were accused of robbing "stash houses" where drugs are stored or illegal immigrants are temporarily housed.

3/6/2008 - Hughstan Schlicker, 15, was charged with first-degree murder in his father's death after he confessed to killing his father last month told police he hated his dad for taking away his Internet access. He will be tried as an adult.

3/6/2008 - Anthony Ortiz, 45, and Ryan Kempton, 28, were arrested on suspicion of burglary after a business owner reported a break-in at his self-service Laundromat and watched the burglary from his home computer.
Kempton faces additional charges of possession of burglary tools and drug paraphernalia.

3/4/2008 - Neil Messer, was arrested after undercover detectives received sex propositions from workers at his Chandler massage parlor.

3/3/2008 - Brandon Paris, 45, said he was arrested on suspicion of child abuse after witnesses identified him as a man who was abusing his daughter in a Trader Joe's parking lot.

3/3/2008 - Erlinda Espinoza, 36, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault and two outstanding drug warrants after she allegedly slashed a former female roommate who refused to further their relationship.

2/25/2008 - Steven Chambers, was booked into the Camp Verde Jail on four counts of disorderly conduct and domestic violence after his son prevented him from loading a gun during a family fight.

2/25/2008 - James Deroy Jr., 19, was arrested after he robbed a Walgreens of roughly 500 pills and is accused of robbing a Scottsdale Walgreens the next day.

2/22/2008 - Former Arizona Cardinal Luis Sharpe was arrested again this week when police said they found crack cocaine in his car.

2/19/2008 - Cynthia Hernandez, 45, was charged with suspicion of first-degree murder after she fatally shot her 14-year-old son in the head with a rifle.

2/13/2008 - Tyrell McDaniel, 17, was arrested and booked for child abuse and felony murder after his infant son died from injuries after McDaniel visited him.

2/9/2008 - William Speed was arrested after he pulled a 4-year-old from a jungle gym and tried to sexually assault her.

2/8/2008 - Jonathan Ray Dudley, 22, pleaded guilty Monday to second-degree murder and child abuse in the death of his girlfriend's 2-month-old daughter.

Marlin Cash, 26, who allegedly raped a sleeping man, then eluded police by working in a carnival, was arrested in Phoenix.

2/4/2008 - Chris Risley, 44, who got on a city bus in Tempe last September and attempted to molest a 12-year-old girl was sentenced to 1.5 years in prison and lifetime probation with sex offender terms.

1/31/2008 - John Trask was arrested Wednesday after police said they caught him driving a golf cart while drunk at the FBR Open in Scottsdale.

1/30/08 - Valerie Garduno, 18, and Jamie Cruz, 19, were arrested after they robbed a Burger King drive-through window at gunpoint. The women had pulled a similar heist that same morning at a Del Taco in Avondale.

1/29/2008 - Gary Beres, is accused of posing as a police officer and now faces charges of sexual assault after police found videotapes of him assaulting eight victims.

1/28/2008 - Juan Carlos Rios, a high ranking member of the New Mexican Mafia, was arrested in Humboldt by the Yavapai County Sheriff's office. Rios is wanted by Phoenix police in connection with several crimes including: witness tampering, hindering prosecution and other crimes related to his position as a high ranking member of the New Mexican Mafia.

1/25/2008 - Matthew Driver, a former Mesa police officer, was sentenced to six years in prison on Friday for fondling three different women while they were in his custody as a police officer.

1/25/2008 - Clarence Wayne Dixon, 52, was convicted of murdering an Arizona State University student 30 years ago and has been given the death sentence.

1/17/2008 - Thomas Gonzalez Garza, 30, was arrested after a short foot chase, during which he dropped several items taken from the home. Detective Chris Arvayo said Garza has been named as a person of interest in other recent residential burglaries in Mesa.

1/16/2008 - Juan Delacruz Rios was arrested by Surprise police and U.S. Marshals in Surprise. Rios allegedly shot and killed a 19-year-old man with a rifle in 2002 after a fight.
Rios was on the Dallas Police Department's most wanted list following the shooting and was thought to have fled to Mexico.

1/15/2008 - Keith Bailey, 42, was arrested after Arizona DPS officers found nearly 500 pounds of marijuana hidden in hollowed out pallets made to look like juice boxes was seized in a commercial vehicle.

1/14/2008 - Jeffrey Dembrosky, 43 was arrested on assault and robbery charges after he threw salsa at and threatened to kill restaurant employees who wouldn't give him food, Mesa police said.

1/11/2008 - Santana Betiz-Aceves, 39, was arrested as a suspect in the Chandler rapes of five teenaged girls.

1/10/2007 - Sonia Rodriguez, 35, was arrested for failure to provide identification Octaviano Meza, 29, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

1/2/2008 - Jose Francisco Mendoza, 24, nicknamed "Psycho," and his sister were arrested as suspects in the shootings of six people in a west Phoenix neighborhood last weekend.

1/1/2008 - Kumari Fulbright, 25, a beauty pageant winner and law school student clerking for a federal judge faces charges that she kidnapped and tortured an ex-boyfriend.

Estrella Mendoza and her brother, Jose Francisco Mendoza, 24, nicknamed "Psycho," were arrested as suspects in the shootings of six people in a west Phoenix neighborhood last weekend.

12/27/2007 - Donald Lee Denson, 21, of Wickenburg man was booked Monday on charges of threatening and intimidating, use of the telephone to threaten and five counts of sexual conduct with a minor after allegedly threatening the family of a 14-year-old girl, with whom he was having a sexual relationship.

12/13/2007 - Police say William Speed, 35, grabbed a little girl from a jungle gym at a downtown Phoenix park and sexually assaulted her until her family members and passersby pulled him off.

12/10/2007 - Jason Derek Brown, is suspected of ambushing and killing an armored car guard outside an AMC theater near 50th Street and Ray Road in Ahwatukee on Nov. 29, 2004. He was added to the FBI's Top 10 Most Wanted List today.

12/5/2007 - Jennifer Jansma was taken to the Pima County jail and booked on first-degree murder and child abuse charges in the death of her 8-year-old son.

12/3/2007 - Steven Southworth, 43, was arrested and charged with two counts each of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and one count of child abuse for yelling at his daughter, slapping and hitting her, according to sheriff's officials.

11/29/2007 - Douglas C. Wenz, 47, and Patricia L. Brown, 37, were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of fraud schemes and theft.

11/29/2007 - Lisa Kathleen Randall, 46, was indicted on a first-degree murder charge for the April death of a child she was babysitting.

11/28/2007 - Lumara Hammond, a screaming homeless woman who was high on methamphetamines when deputies arrested her, was found to have three arrest warrants issued by Maricopa County.

11/27/2007 - Tiffany Lee Hecker was booked on second-degree murder and child abuse charges Tuesday morning. Mesa police said the 19-year-old declined to be interviewed.

Police have arrested Bradley Black, who was found bleeding and suspected of burglarizing a Mesa home while the homeowners were out of town.

11/21/2007 - Victor Hernandez-Salgado, 40, pleaded guilty to three counts of attempted child molestation for molesting two girls, ages 3 and 5.

11/21/2007 - Paul Skaists, 62, was arrested and charged with one count of impersonating a peace officer and one count of unlawful imprisonment for allegedly outfitting his car with police lights and pulling over speeders in his neighborhood.

11/19/07 - Ivan Hernandez Olvera was booked on one count of First Degree Murder in connection to the death of his girlfriend, according to Chandler police.

11/19/2007 - Frederick Cross III, 41, bought a fire truck and responded to a fire call. He was cited in February after a verbal dispute at the Seligman Fire House, the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office said.

11/19/2007 - Ronald Herk Lockwood, 45, broke into a woman's home two days in a row and threatened to kill her.

11/19/2007 - Ivan Hernandez Olvera, 27, faces first degree murder charges in the shooting death of his ex-girlfriend, 22-year-old Felicia Alarcon from Mesa.

11/16/2007 - Robert Roberts, 43, shot his two children to death before turning the gun on himself.

Donald Claus, 56, arrested after police found tens of thousands of sexually explicit images of children in a locked closet told authorities they had hit the "mother lode," according to court documents.

11/14/2007 - German Villareal-Fiera, 26, was identified as a suspect in an ongoing investigation into drug sales in Tempe and Mesa, police said.

11-12-2007 - Oslando Ochoa-Quintero, a suspected illegal immigrant from Mexico, was arrested in Mesa on Sunday for allegedly abusing his 6-month-old.

11/10/2007 - Bond has been set at $500,000 for Reiko Troupe, 25, a woman accused in the torture beating and burning of a 12-year-old girl whose body was found by police four days after the crime occurred. The father of the girl, Jeffrey Duchane Jr., 34, faces two counts of child abuse and is being held on $100,000 bond.

25-year-old Kelsey Peterson, a Nebraska teacher who was accused of having sex with a student, was found in her car earlier this year in the parking lot of a shopping mall in the border city of Mexicali. The teacher was turned over to U.S. authorities to face federal charges of transporting a child across state lines for sexual activity.

11/8/2007: 27-year-old Marion M. Conforti was arrested in Mesa for endangering the life of her 6-year-old son.

11/9/2007: Humaid Altoqi and Jessica Molina were booked into the Tempe City Jail on two counts of child abuse for leaving their two toddlers home alone for several hours a day while they worked, police said.

Armando Corrales, 21, was booked on several charges of robbery and armed robbery. Mesa police said a man they took into custody threatened victims with a screwdriver during several robberies last month.

11/8/2007 - Justin Carr, 22, a Tempe man faces armed robbery charges after holding up a bank with a written note, police said.

11/7/2007: Ricardo Espinoza-Valdez, 28, a contract food-service worker for Scottsdale schools is accused of taking pictures of girls' buttocks and legs at Saguaro High School by positioning a digital camera in a box near their skirts, Scottsdale police said.

11/6/2007: Wilson Gilberto Alba-Cano, 27, an illegal immigrant, was indicted in a hit-and-run wreck that killed a 5-year-old girl and injured three other children and an adult.

11/6/2007: Carlos Lemus, a Phoenix man, was charged with having a cockfighting operation on his property and being a spectator at a cockfight.

11/5/2007: Kendra, a transsexual Mesa woman, was arrested for indecent exposure and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after arguing with her neighbor about who threw an egg in her driveway.

Julius Rene Paet Malantangay faces up to six months in jail, $2,500 in fines and three year's probation after driving double the posted speed limit on a busy stretch of Loop 101.

Tutonn Brown was arrested on charges sexual conduct with a minor and interfering with judicial procedure. Police said the 19-year-old man had a two-year sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl.

Sheldon Hanshaw, 33, was arrested late Wednesday night in Phoenix. Hanshaw was wanted for violating his parole from state prison, and wanted by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office for various crimes, involving the sale of dangerous drugs.

Ashly Duchene was arrested Wednesday and charged with negligent homicide in her 17-month-old son Ryan's death. Police said the boy was left in the car from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday outside the restaurant where Duchene worked.

Joseph J. Fugazzotto was booked into jail on one count of armed robbery, one count of aggravated assault and one count of resisting arrest.

A man bit the officer trying to arrest him, Phoenix police said.
Officer William Strohmeyer was arresting 23-year-old Rojelio Cobos-Prieto for investigation of forgery when Cobos-Prieto bit the officer's biceps, according to police.

Jason Brattoli, left, and Nathan Daugherty, right, were arrested at a Buckeye Wal-Mart for suspicious activity. Detectives said they've confirmed Brattoli and Daugherty were connected to dozens of other thefts in Phoenix and Chandler.

10/25/2007 - Aurora Lopez, 25, was arrsted on a charge of false reporting. Authorities say she falsely reported that two men tied her up and questioned her about keys to the bank where she works.ge of false reporting.

10/25/2007 - Jeremy Irving Rhodes, 23, was booked on suspicion of felony disorderly conduct, aggravated assault and threatening and criminal damage.

10/24/2007 - Juan Mendez, Kalib Mondragon, Humberto Alvardo, Juan Torres, Javier Robledo and Miguel Mendez were arrested and accused of stealing $365,000 in a series of robberies across the Valley. The "Zip Tie Robbers" robbed seven stores in Mesa, Phoenix and Buckeye, using zip ties to secure the customers and clerks.

10/15/2007 - Jose Abel Cabrera Somosa, 35, is charged with attempted first-degree murder of a police officer and weapons misconduct after allegedly shooting a police officer during a traffic stop in Phoenix.

9/24/2007 - Sheryl Lenora Ross, 42, was charged with endangerment and may face charges for indecent exposure after an argument with her husband allegedly ended with her throwing rocks at the vehicle her husband and 10-year-old son had taken shelter in.

9/14/2007 - Demetrio Urtusuastegui, an ex-felon and illegal immigrant deported five times, was charged with killing a man. He will make a final exit if County Attorney Andrew Thomas gets his way.

Aaron Van Sant, 34, was sentenced to 30 years in prison for raping a woman he lured to a vacant home.

9/4/2007 - Tarren Michael Sherwood, left, and Katharine Noel Davenport, right. The Cottonwood man and his female passenger were arrested on drug charges after the man was clocked in excess of 100 mph on Interstate 17.

Charges have been filed against Tina Lynn Tatum who allegedly beat and dragged her 10-year-old son inside a Mesa Wal-Mart store.

5/3/2007 - Clift Patricio Labbe is wanted by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office for sexual assault of a minor in Buckeye, Ariz.

4/27/2007 - Cynthia Tureman, 28, was arrested on charges of first-degree murder after she allegedly dumped her newborn girl in a trash can at a Chevron gas station near Chapparal and Pima roads.

4/26/2007 - Tom Porras, 49, a former Scottsdale teacher accused of sexually touching a female student has rejected a plea offer from Maricopa County prosecutors that would have required him to spend 30 days in jail and register as a sex offender.

4/5/2007 - Roy Adkins, was arrested in connection with the slaying of 57-year old Viola Ginter, who was brutally strangled in her Englewood home in 1976.

2/9/2007 - Jonathon Burns, the man who allegedly killed 19-year-old Gilbert woman Jackie Hartman, tried to escape from jail Aug. 29, 2007, by whittling his toothbrush into a handcuff key.

1/26/2007 - George Horner, 26, a convicted sex offender awaiting trial in connection with the January kidnapping and sexual assault of a 6-year-old girl hung himself in his jail cell, the Pinal County Sheriff's Office said.

12/29/2006 - Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson pled guilty to charges of drug possession and driving under the influence stemming from a traffic stop last year as he was leaving a nightclub.
Tyson quietly acknowledged to a judge that he had cocaine and was impaired when he was stopped for driving erratically in Scottsdale on Dec. 29.
