The suspect in the Walmart shooting is shown. (Silent Witness)

Our first case takes us to west Phoenix on April 7, 2012. It was early Saturday morning, just after midnight.

"The suspect entered the WalMart and 75th Avenue and McDowell and went directly to the cash register area," said Phoenix Police Sgt. Darren Burch. "That's where employees have a grocery cart full of cash and are loading the cash registers with money."

Talk about timing. The guy took out a gun, grabbed the shopping cart full of cash and headed out the front door.

"He was confronted by the manager and another employee who heard about the robbery on their radios," said. Burch.

The suspect shot and killed the manager. The killer grabbed some cash out of the cart then took off. He jumped a fence into a neighborhood and disappeared.

Next, help police nab a graffiti vandal.

"This is at 16th Street and Buckeye at the Sacred Heart Church in Phoenix," said Burch.

Someone painted some huge lettering on the church spelling the words "WOME" and "OUCH."

"We don't know what that means," said Burch, "But it's a felony when you do this kind of vandalism at a church. It's a very serious crime."
