PHOENIX – When a girl was taken from her friends and molested, her panicked mother called 911 for help.
Phoenix Police Sgt. Darren Burch said it happened near 44th Street and Oak around 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 27, 2010.
“What happened is a few girls were out in the front of an apartment complex playing and a white male walked up, grabbed the girl and forced her into his vehicle,” Burch said.
“They were gone for about half an hour and during that time frame unfortunately, the suspect did molest the young girl.”
She was dropped off not far from where she was kidnapped and seen running across a busy street.
“Her heart is beating like 200 miles an hour,” the 911 operator was told.
The suspect is between 25- and 30-years-old and is about six-feet tall, with a thin build.
He was wearing a dark colored baseball type cap with a white panel down the front. The car is described as a newer model dark gray four-door sedan.
“There is a sexual predator out there,” Burch said. “This guy did a brazen attack during broad daylight on a Saturday with lots of witnesses. He will do this again.”
