What happened to James G. Robertson?
"James was last seen at his home near 43rd Ave. and Camelback at about noon on Saturday, May 27, 1995," said Phoenix Police Sgt. Darren Burch. "This was a missing persons case that has recently been upgraded to a homicide due to the amount of time that's passed."
A witness saw Robertson's truck about 4 a.m. on May 28, 1995 near 16th St. and Mohave. Not long after that, his truck was recovered in Nogales, Arizona. At that time, foul play was suspected, but his truck contained no evidence or leads.
Robertson, a Vietnam vet, worked as a graphic artist. He designed the first Civic Plaza signs. His friends say he came from a good family and was a good person. He was a handyman who loved to help people with projects and could fix anything. He was friendly to everyone.
"Maybe too friendly," said Burch. "Someone may have taken advantage of his good nature."
