Chris Brown checks into rehab following D.C. arrest
R&B singer Chris Brown has checked himself into rehab, just a day after appearing in court, E! Online reports.
A rep for the singer issued a statement about the rehab stay, saying:
His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point.
Brown, 24, was in court Monday on an assault charge, after he and his bodyguard allegedly punched Parker Isaac Adams, 20, outside the W Hotel in Washington, D.C. early Sunday. Adams' nose was fractured.
While the context is not yet clear, Adams told police that Brown said, "I'm not down with that gay s---" and "I feel like boxing." Additional reports say Adams was trying to get a picture with the singer and two other people.
Brown claims he was already on the tour bus when his bodyguard, Chris Hollosy, had the altercation with Adams.
Brown is due back in court on Nov. 25.
