Hip-hop MC Nas is using his fame to help raise money for a struggling Washington, D.C. family who recently lost their home in a fire.
According to ABC 7 News, the fire destroyed the home of Stanley Young, a father of eight and newly-unemployed construction worker. Since then, the family had been left to call a hotel a home.
The Youngs must leave the hotel by Aug. 13, but finding a home for a family of eight with little income is difficult.
Nas found out about Young and "could barely watch his tragic story." Nas, also a single father, set up an online fundraising campaign through Crowdtilt.
Since Friday, the campaign has reached over $51,000 and has eight days until it ends. Nas contributed $10,000 of his own money to the cause.
