Desiree Hartsock was left heartbroken after Brooks Forester -- the man she truly loved -- walked out on her during part 1 of ABC's "The Bachelorette" season finale.
During the finale (part 2) on Monday, Drew Kenney and Chris Siegfried were the last men left fighting for Desiree's heart. But her stronger connection with Chris left Drew on a plane back to Scottsdale, Ariz. without a rose.
Desiree broke the news to Drew during a romantic picnic on the beach, just moments after he professed his love to her.
"I would be so lucky to have you in my life, but I don't know if I see our futures together," Desiree said with tears streaming from her eyes. "I feel like maybe there's something missing."
Drew was clearly shaken up by Desiree's statement but appreciated her honesty.
"Just because I see something, doesn't mean that you have to feel it or see the same thing -- I wouldn't want that," said Drew. "I would want you to be as in love with me as I am with you. And you're not. I guess this is goodbye." Drew walked into the distance alone.
And then there was one.
When Desiree and Chris reunited on the lush hillside, he got down on one knee... to tie his shoe.
"Will you marry me," said Chris.
"Yes," said Desiree.
She got a beautiful diamond ring; he got the final rose; they both kissed and walked away hand in hand.
