'Game of Thrones' star to play Sarah Connor in 'Terminator' reboot
The Mother of Dragons will soon play The Mother of the Future in Paramount's upcoming "Terminator" reboot.
Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenarys Targaryen on HBO's "Game of Thrones," has been confirmed in the role of Sarah Connor, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Actress Linda Hamilton originated the role in 1984's "Terminator" and 1991's "Terminator 2: Judgment Day." Both movies, along with "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines" starred Arnold Schwarzenegger in the title role.
Schwarzenegger is expected to appear in the film, slated for a July 1, 2015 release, but little else is known about his involvement.
Jason Clarke (no relation) of "Zero Dark Thirty" is in talks to play Sarah Connor's son, John, the sole man responsible for saving Earth from self-aware artificial intelligence machinery, although Tom Hardy has also reportedly been eyed for the same role.
Incidentally, actress Lena Headey, Clarke's co-star on "Game of Thrones," portrayed Sarah Connor on the FOX series "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," which aired for two seasons.
