Trent Thomas of Tulsa, Okla. became an actor, essentially overnight, after a six-second video landed him a role on the sequel to "Dumb and Dumber."
The Farrelly brothers recently launched a contest asking fans to recreate their favorite scene from the 1994 original film using social video platform Vine, reports Huffington Post.
"Whenever we make a movie, we always auction off extra roles for charity," Peter Farrelly told HuffPost. "We ended up having 30 or 40 people per movie who bought walk-ons."
Farrelly explained that walk-on actors play a crucial role in his movies, saying, "Every day when you have these extras, they're so excited to be there that it rubs off on the cast and crew."
Thomas' winning clip recreates the scene where Jim Carrey's character hands dollar bills to hotel concierges. He beat out over 2,000 other entries.
Jeff Daniels and Carrey will reprise the roles of Harry and Lloyd in the 2014 sequel. Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence will make a cameo.
