From "Platoon" to "Born on the Fourth of July," from "JFK" to "Nixon" and even "W.," director Oliver Stone has a flair for dramatic, controversial political features.

Soon, slain civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. may be added to the list, according to The Huffington Post.

While Stone's commitment remains tentative, he is in talks with a few screenwriters and has been vocal about casting Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx to star.

While no offer has yet been made to Foxx, the "Django Unchained" actor has also "expressed interest during meetings about the project."

Playing a historical figure would not be new territory for Foxx, as he won an Academy Award for his portrayal of the late singer Ray Charles in the film "Ray" back in 2005.,
