Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander spotted heading to Tom's Restaurant in New York

Two guys walked into a restaurant, and TV fans got a whiff of nostalgia along the way.

Monday morning, Jerry Seinfeld and Jason Alexander were spotted nonchalantly walking into Tom's Restaurant in New York, whose outdoor facade provided the exterior look fans knew and loved as Monk's in the popular "Seinfeld" sitcom -- the place where Jerry, George, Kramer and Elaine talked out all their problems.

The two former NBC stars weren't just at Tom's to get a bite to eat. Gothamist reports they were likely there to shoot a segment for Seinfeld's web series "Comedians Getting in Cars with Coffee."

This might be the first time Seinfeld and Alexander have ever been outside of Tom's -- all of the sitcom was filmed in Los Angeles and all we'd see of Tom's, the Broadway and West 112th institution, was the exterior establishing shot, sans principle actors.

Gothamist also said the restaurant the blinds were drawn and the restaurant was closed down for a few hours while the actors were inside.

Apparently, Larry David, the co-creator of the the sitcom that ran from 1989 to 1998, was seen leaving the restaurant, too, as seen in a short video posted to Vimeo by Gothamist.
