It's a matter of national security for the United States Secretary of State to maintain close relationships with foreign nations. So it's completely fitting for current U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry to break the barrier between gangster rappers and politicians.

Snoop Dogg declassified an Instagram video on Thursday that shows he and Secretary Kerry in a casual conversation about hip hop while attending a swanky White House party.

According to TIME, the video was shot in early December at a gathering for the 2013 Kennedy Center honorees.

Just before the rapper and politician parted ways, they sealed their newly kindled friendship with a fist pump.

While the tuxed-out studs seemingly enjoyed each other's company, the short encounter apparently wasn't enough to make it Twitter official. John "K-Dogg" Kerry follows 222 Twitter users -- the Doggfather isn't one of them.
