Chelsea Handler is known for poking fun at celebrities on her E! talk show, "Chelsea Lately." But when it comes to philanthropy, she's seemingly the real deal.

Handler hosted the Inspiration Gala for the American Foundation for AIDS Research in Los Angeles on Thursday. While there, the 38-year-old comedian decided to donate $100,000 to the organization, reports E! News.

"I'm going to give $100,000," she said. "I hate going to these things—you get a little buzz going and then whoopsy! I have a traveler's check in my car."

The website also cites that "Fashion Police" host Kelly Osbourne donated $5,000. The charity event ended up raising $3.5 million.
