Vin Diesel visits mother of late actor Paul Walker
Not only were Vin Diesel's and Paul Walker's "Fast & Furious" characters closely connected on-screen, but the two actors were good friends outside of the films, and Walker's Nov. 30 death in a car crash appears to have affected Diesel greatly.
Besides showing up at Walker's crash site in Vallejo, Calif., and delivering an impromptu speech to the mournful crowd, Diesel said Friday on his Facebook page that, after he heard the bad news, he went directly from a plane to Walker's mother's house.
"I thought they needed my strength, but realized when I got there and broke down before his family, that it was I who needed theirs," Diesel said.
Diesel has continually referred to Walker as his "brother" in speeches and social media posts after the actor's death.
Filming on the seventh installment of "Fast & Furious" has been halted indefinitely after the loss of one of its major stars.
Walker is slated to star in two other movies posthumously -- besides "Fast & Furious 7" -- including the drama "Hours," which hits theaters this Friday.
