Grace Markel, 7, and her mom were getting out of a taxi cab at her favorite singer's concert last month, when a speeding, uninsured and unlicensed motorist slammed into her.
The little girl spent two days at the Children's Mercy Hospital where she was treated for two skull fractures, an orbital fracture, multiple head lacerations, a severe concussion and road rash to her face and body, reports Good Morning America.
After Grace was well enough to sing and dance again, her parents bought tickets to Swift's concert in Nashville.
They arrived at the show, this time with no surprises -- well, only one. A big one.
The 23-year-old pop star got word of little Grace's story, so she arranged for the group to go backstage and meet before the show.
"Taylor greeted Grace by her name and immediately knelt down and hugged her," Grace's mother told People Magazine. "She told Grace she had a cold and asked Grace to sing extra loud to help her out."
Swift and Grace shared many laughs and hugs before the singer took the stage.
Grace's mom said the meeting "was just a warm and genuine exchange that made it feel like time has stopped, and it was just the two of them."
Grace has since recovered and was recently cleared to return to school.
