He may be "mean" to Taylor Swift, but a recent act of kindness lands John Mayer high on the list of many.

Aspiring 16-year-old guitar player, Julie Fermin, was inside a SoHo music store admiring their expensive guitar selection, when the singer and his girlfriend, Katy Perry, walked in.

Mayer approached the young girl and asked which guitar she liked the best.

"I showed him, and he went over and checked the guitar's price," she told Us Weekly. Unfortunately, the price tag was too high for the Fermin to afford.

The group snapped a photo with the popstars before Mayer and Perry walked out the store.

Fermin was thrilled to have met the musicians, but that quickly turned into tears of joy when a store employee told the girl that Mayer purchased the guitar for her.

"I started crying and screaming," Fermin said. "I cannot describe all the emotions I felt at that moment. I just knew I was the luckiest and happiest person alive."

Way to go, John -- you definitely scored some points with us, and hopefully many with Katy.,
