Main Street Minute: Arizona market chain to open 10 stores next year

• Sprouts continues to expand. The Phoenix-based farmers market chain plans to open 10 stores in the first quarter of 2015, including one in Scottsdale. The grocer is also opening its first stores in Missouri and Alabama.

• Scottsdale Fashion Square is getting a new store. Dick’s Sporting Goods will open a 140,000-square-foot location on the north side of the mall. It’s expected to open fall of 2015.

• A Tempe-based solar company wants to build a big facility in a neighboring city. According to a report, First Solar has proposed a $20 million research and development testing center near 80th Street and Germann Road in Mesa. The city is expected to consider the plan next week.
