Main Street Minute: Glendale Summer Band plans concert series

• The Glendale Summer Band is getting back together. Beginning June 5, the group will hold an eight-week concert series at Murphy Park Amphitheater in downtown Glendale. Concerts are free every Thursday at 8 p.m. The band is the longest running community band in Arizona, with more than 100 members.
• According to a recent poll, 93 percent of respondents plan to take a summer vacation this year. Of the 7 percent staying home all season, money wasn’t the factor, it was not having enough free time. In addition, travelers considered new technology such as Wi-Fi and online check-ins to be a major factor when making travel choices.
