Shocker! Employer mandate delayed ahead of elections

Feb 11, 2014, 4:48 PM | Updated: 4:49 pm

There’s good news for America! The president has decided to delay a provision (the employer mandate) in the Affordable Care Act or Obamacare for another year.

We have been led to believe as Americans that the president has heard the cries of working Americans and those who employ them.

The full weight of the employer mandate, which has already been delayed once, is expected to take full affect right before the 2014 midterm elections. If left unchecked, millions more could be left without coverage, which would be a nightmare for the Democrats in November.

Shocker! Though there is tremendous legal debate on whether or not President Obama can arbitrarily delay the mandate, he has chosen to do it anyway. Is this obvious disregard for his own law an effort to save us as Americans or simply an attempt to secure his political party’s power?

In my opinion, this is nothing but a cheap political ploy to ensure the midterm elections go the Democrats way.

However, who can complain? Surely not the GOP. The Republicans can’t rise up with one voice to object. If they do, they will be seen as the party that pushed for millions of Americans, who will eventually lose their coverage anyway, to be left uninsured right before the elections.

Once again, the Republicans find themselves stuck between a rock and a hard place. Well played Mr. President.

Here’s an idea: no more tricks, ploys or delays. Let’s have Obamacare and let’s have all of it now. Then we can sit back and let the chips fall where they may.

I hate to say it, but this humble, or not-so-humble, KTAR weekend talk show host told you so. Pulling out of Iraq was a bad idea. I've said it many times on the Mike & Winey Show.

Is NBA star LeBron James an idiot, too?

No matter how you slice it, Donald Sterling, the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, is an idiot. Everything that spews from his mouth is drenching in stupidity, insensitivity and ignorance. I’m simply amazed that someone so witless was ever able to climb the ladder of success like he has. Now LeBron James, one of […]
