Returning Yarnell residents advised to boil water
YARNELL, Ariz. -- Water-system administrators for Yarnell are advising residents returning to their community after being evacuated because of the Yarnell Hill wildfire to boil water before consuming it.
The Yarnell Water Improvement Association said there's no known contamination but the boil advisory is being issued because the water system lost pressure because of the fire and related activities.
The association said it expects to receive results on Tuesday from water sample testing.
Residents are advised to boil water for at least three minutes before using it for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth or preparing or washing food.
The association also said it is banning high-volume usage such as watering landscaping or washing vehicles.
