Reporting in the field can be a dangerous gig. Mike Amor, reporter for an Australian morning show, unfortunately became a reminder of that fact recently.
No, he wasn’t in the middle of a war zone. He was simply reporting from a Los Angeles skate park, doing a seemingly innocuous story on skateboarding.
With his back to the underground bowl behind him, Amor didn’t see a skater fall and inadvertently jettison his board.
The board rapidly projected toward the back of Amor’s head, and it probably couldn’t have hit the reporter more directly and violently than it did.
It looked like a seriously painful moment.
One of the hosts of the “Sunrise” show said Amor was fine, and that “there was no blood apparently.”
The hosts wondered what happened to the skater that fell into the bottom of the bowl, as he disappeared from the camera’s sight right before his board’s impact with Amor’s head.
