PHOENIX — When Kevin Cotter’s wife left him in 2009, she took everything that belonged to her, save for a wedding dress.
BT.com reported she told him to keep the only thing she left — her wedding dress. Though he was broken up about his marriage, Cotter turned to the dress as therapy.
“At dinner I explained to my family that she left the dress and asked them what I thought was a serious question – what do I do with it?
“My brother suggested I wipe my ass with it and my sister-in-law said there were probably 101 uses so we immediately took out a pen and paper and started brainstorming ideas.”
From fishing line to a hammock, the Tucson man posts all of his ideas on his blog, My Ex-Wife’s Wedding Dress, and has published a book about the uses.
Cotter’s ex said she believes he created the blog out of anger, but he said that’s far from the truth.
“This honestly doesn’t have anything to do with her.
“I did it for myself because I thought it would be fun and wanted to answer the question – what can be done with a once-worn wedding dress?”
Things are happier for Cotter now. He’s remarried.
Check out a few of the uses Cotter has come up with below.
