Baby animals are curious little things.

They love to explore the world around them, even if it means mom has to step in now and again to pluck them out of harm's reach.

Take, for example, this bear cub who wanted to check out a Canadian highway in Kootenay National Park. He's hanging roadside, probably wondering what all these loud blurs are, when mom steps in.

With one deft grab, she hauls the cub over the barrier wall and to safety. I'm sure he'll get a lesson on how to cross the street in a few months. After all, those campers across the way have the best food.
