Microsoft wants to tackle the Asian market with force, so the software company has created an anime character that personifies Internet Explorer to help sell its products.
According to The Register, her name is Inori Aizawa and she has wavy blonde locks, big blue eyes and wears a very short schoolgirl-like skirt that is part of a blue and white ensemble emblazoned with the Windows logo.
Inori was created by CACANi, an animation studio, for the Microsoft Singapore division. For Singapore's Anime Festival Asia, the studio created a special two-minute video depicting Inori fighting robotic monsters and then relaxing at home in a room full of Microsoft products.
She even has her own Facebook page:
When I was younger, I used to be a clumsy, slow and awkward girl.
However, just like the story of ugly duckling, people told me that I have really matured and changed over the years. I feel confident in my abilities now, and I'm eager to show you what I can do.
Why don't you get to know me a little better?
What do you think: Is this a clever campaign or a creepy one?
