WASHINGTON (AP) - Vice President Joe Biden says he will deliver recommendations to President Barack Obama on steps to curb violence by Tuesday.

Biden says a consensus is emerging over proposals such as tightening background checks and banning high-capacity ammunition magazines.

Biden told a group of sportsmen and wildlife interest groups that he has "never quite heard so much talk about high-capacity magazines" as he has since last month's horrific mass shooting in Newtown, Conn.

Biden was meeting with the groups Thursday at the White House. He was set to meet later with the National Rifle Association, the powerful pro-gun organization.

    How in the world is that guy part of the conversation? He broke the law by allowing "straw" purchases to go on. He sat by and did nothing while the program he started put assault weapons in the hands of drug dealers and killers. Those guns ended up killing Americans! He obviously knows NOTHING about gun control...

    Nobody recognizes the purpose of Fast and Furious. The administration says it's a project that went terribly wrong and they are sorry. The project went exactly according to plan. Put guns into the hands of criminals and then announce, "Look everybody, gun control is out of control".

    What benefit was it to hand over 2000 assault weapons to the Sinaloa cartel so we could see where they are going? Let me guess, to the Semaloa cartel? Oh, by the way, do this illegal smuggling without the involvement of the Mexican government. Obama and Holders program would have gone on if not for the whistle blowers within BATFE.
